Term Explanation
Address bar The bar where you enter Web addresses (URLs)
Bookmark Shortcut (stored in the Bookmark panel) that takes you to a Web page
Certificate Used as an "ID card" between you and a secure Web service
Drag and drop Moving something from one place to another using the mouse
History Backlog of Web pages you have visited
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) Chat protocol and universe of people chatting, used by Opera's chat client
MDI (Multiple Document Interface) The possibility of keeping several pages open simultaneously within the same workspace
Messages Collective term for e-mail messages and news articles
Navigation bar Toolbar which uses embedded links from the document for simplified site navigation
Panels The area on the left of the Opera application window with the Bookmarks, Mail, and Contacts icons
Panel selector Toolbar containing buttons for all your activated panels. By default vertical and placed on the left side of the screen.
Personal bar Toolbar which can easily be personalized with quickly accessible links and search engines
Preferences Options you can set in Opera
Right-click To click the right button on your mouse
RSS Really Simple Syndication, protocols for distributing newsfeeds used by Opera's newsfeed client
Server manager Dialog where you can adjust cookie settings and Wand logins.
Session A saved set of pages and application windows
Skin A set of graphics such as buttons and icons that change the look of the browser
Start bar A small toolbar that drops down from the address field and contains options like "Top 10 visited", bookmarks, and history.
View Folder-like access point to a group of messages that have something in common
View bar Toolbar toggled by a button on the address bar, containing in-page search and options related to page display.
Wand Opera's password manager for automatic log-in to Web sites
Workspace The available area for displaying pages in Opera
